Welcome to my latest blog--Selling at Farmers Market, which is the companion to my upcoming book of the same title.

I've found plenty of books, seminars, workshops, blogs, videos and courses that teach people how to farm, to start CSA's, set up farmers markets--all of which I have done myself over the last twenty years--but no where will you find all of the nuts & bolts information about how to become a vendor at your local farmers market.

This book and blog are designed to take the reader from the initial decision to participate as a vendor at a farmers market to the day the first customer arrives and purchases products.

Readers will learn:
  • The different types of farmers markets
  • A timeline for going to market
  • Equipment needed
  • How to set up an effective stand
  • Setting prices
  • Dealing with money
  • Customer interaction
  • Rules & regulations
  • Marketing
  • And much, much more!
Follow me as I take you on a journey through some of the leading markets in the country and learn what it takes to participate in the vibrant farmers market communities that are driving local economies. According to the USDA, "The number of farmers markets nationwide more than doubled between 2000 and 2010 jumping from 2,863 to 6,132, and now more than 100,000 farms sell food directly to local consumers."

Do you want to be a part of it? I can show you how.
